Farhan Akhtar is a proper family man. He is very devoted towards his daughters, he takes care of his girlfriend Shibani Dandekar, and recently, he penned an adorable birthday wish for his filmmaker sister Zoya Akhtar.
Sharing a throwback picture with Zoya, Farhan had a short and sweet message for his sister. He wrote, “Happy birthday Zoya Akhtar. may you get all that your heart desires. Bas Oscar le aana. Love you.”
For the uninitiated, Farhan was referring to Zoya’s film Gully Boy, that has been selected as India’s entry into the Oscars for the year 2019. Gully Boy featured Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt and Siddhant Chaturvedi in lead roles. Gully Boy explores the Hip Hop scene in India, featuring the story of Ranveer as an amateur rapper’s rise to prominence.
Meanwhile, birthday girl Zoya had begun direction with the 2009 film Luck by Chance and since then, she made some amazing movies such as Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Lakshya, Talaash and more.
Farhan meanwhile has been hailed for his performance in his most recent flick, The Sky Is Pink. Based on the real-life of motivational speaker Aisha Choudhary, Farhan is joined by Priyanka Chopra, Zaira Wasim and Rohit Saraf in lead roles. Directed by Shonali Bose, the movie received a standing ovation at its premiere at the Toronto film festival earlier this year.
Elsewhere, the 45-year-old has been undergoing a strict training regime for his next flick, Toofan. Recently though, he suffered an injury on the sets of the film. Farhan took to social media to share the X-ray of his injured hand, which shows a hairline fracture.
Since then, wishes have started pouring in from his colleagues, friends and fans, who wished the actor a speedy recovery. Joining Farhan in key roles in Toofan will be Mrunal Thakur and Paresh Rawal. The film is directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and will release on October 2, 2020.
