MNP: Mobile users cannot port between Nov 4-10 as new rules to apply from Nov 11

Telecom regulator Trai on Thursday said clients won’t have the option to submit demands for mobile number transportability within November 4-10, during the switch-over period to the new and easier port-out system which becomes effective from November 11.

Under mobile number portability (MNP) endorsers can switch administrators without changing their portable numbers.

Under the new patched up system, the individual porting demand inside a specific help region will be finished in two working days; though the solicitations for port out starting with one circle then onto the next will be finished in five working days, a Telecom administrative Authority of India (TRAI) official said.

The patched-up mobile number portability (MNP) or port out guidelines intend to makes the entire procedure quicker and less complex, cutting the relocation procedure from the current seven days.

Trai has additionally spread out for the switchover to the new system, which will happen from November 11.

“There will be ‘no administration time’ of six days for mobile number port starting from 18:00:00 long stretches of 04.11.2019 till 23:59:59 long stretches of 10.11.2019 for all authorized help territory (LSAs),” Trai said in a communication.

The slice over to the new guidelines will be viable from 12 PM long stretches of November 11, 2019.

“In the current MNP process, versatile endorsers can create the Unique Porting Code (UPC) and present their port solicitation to their preferred beneficiary administrator till 17:59:59 long stretches of November 4, 2019,” Trai said.

The endorser can endeavour the code age anew after the move to the new procedure begins from November 11.

“The mobile endorser endeavouring to create the UPC during ‘no administration period’ won’t get any reaction. In such a circumstance UPC can be produced on or after November 11, 2019,” it said.
