The Thane-Bhiwandi-Kalyan Metro Line 5 task may hit a barricade as more than 100 families have restricted the proposition to develop a vehicle shed on their territory at Govegaon close Kalyan-Bhiwandi street in Maharashtra. The residents said that they would prefer not to lose their property to clear a path for a vehicle shed as it is their lone wellspring of occupation.
“The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) needs to procure around 36 hectares of our territory in Goregaon for a Metro vehicle shed. The move to influence houses and businesses of 100 families,” secretary of Kon-Gove Sangharh Samiti, Pandharinath Bhoir, said in a question and answer session on Friday.
Neeta Mahajan, a judicial counsellor, who speaks to the board of trustees, stated, “Locals have their homes, shops and little scale workshops on this land.”
The MMRDA had a year ago sent a letter to the inhabitants showing that it needed to gain the land for the vehicle shed. “We are not against the Metro venture. We simply need the MMRDA to utilize an administration land. We are not prepared to give our territory as we will lose our business,” said Mr Bhoir, including that the remuneration given by the improvement authority is not exactly the market esteem.
Metro Line 5 is probably going to help over 2.9 lakh individuals, as it to cut the movement time among Thane and Kalyan.
