Third edition of BDW held at Bharat Diamond Bourse; Diamond-studded Mercedes unveiled at the exhibition

The much awaited 3rd edition of Bharat Diamond Week or commonly knonw as BDW just had an amazing start with the inauguration at Bharat Diamond Bourse (BDB). The inauguration took place in the presence of Mr. Evgeny Agureev (Deputy CEO, Alrosa), Mr. Nanhai Yan (Vice President), Mr. Mehul Shah (Vice-President- BDB) Shanghai Diamond Exchange), Mr. Ashok Gajera (MD, Laxmi Diamond), Mr. Anoop Mehta (President-BDB), and Mr Rajesh Bajaj (M D. Bajaj Overseas Ltd.).

The event will come to a closure on 16th of October 2019.

To add more luster and sparkle to light up the pre-festival season, Laxmi Diamond, the renowned diamond manufacturing company, had gifted a Mercedes Benz that was studded with 3.5 lakh CZ diamonds. This was conceptualized by Mr. Rajesh Bajaj (M D, Bajaj Overseas Limited), who was the key architect of this distinctive occasion. The Chief Darkhouse motorcycle of the Indian Motorcycle also got exhibited at the special venue.

The opening ceremony of the Bharat Diamond Week was a sparkling episode that got dignified by the existence of renowned visitants such as Somchai Phornchindarak, President- Gems, Porntiva Nakasai, President-Thai Gem & Jewelry Traders Association (TGJTA), Jewelry & Precious Metal Confederation of Thailand (GJPCT) together with other leaders and members of the World Federation of Diamond Bourses (WFDB), envoys of the Shanghai Diamond Exchange (SDE), Envoys of Thailand and other several trade representatives.

The other trade delegates comprised well known personalities from Israel, Dubai, European nations, Greece, Bangladesh, South Africa, Vietnam, and India. The GJEPC, GJC, MDMA and trade associations in India also took part in the event.

Every attendee at BDW gets and an option to join the 3rd India Diamond Week (IDW), Buyer Seller Meet (BSM), that is being organized by the Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) from October 15th till October 17th.

Talking about the heartening reaction, with numbers rising on an annual basis, BDB President Anoop Mehta stated, “BDW is now taking flight and is gaining a strong foothold in the exhibition world. No other country and no other show offers the range of polished that is available here – with the widest possible selection of sizes, qualities and cuts.”

He added that the impact of the sturdy India-China tie that is being forged via connections on platforms such as the BDW lies in the statement that China will dons a key role in the motivating worldwide diamond consumption in the coming time.
