Bollywood actors that tried their hand in modeling industry before coming into films

Take a look down the history of Bollywood industry and chances are you will find some non-actors who plied their trade in the modelling industry came into Bollywood and etched their name in history forever. There have been numerous occasions where Bollywood churned out these models into well-groomed actors.

Here, is a list of actors who tried their hand in modelling, before eventually becoming legendary actors. Read on:

1) John Abraham

It had to be him at number one, before becoming an actor, John was already making his name in the modelling industry. In 1999, John won the title of Gladrags Manhunt, after which he became all the more recognisable. Since making his debut in Bollywood, John has given hit films such as  Dhoom, Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran, Batla House, Dostana, etc.

2) Milind Soman

In his days, Milind Soman was the only male supermodel who was known to the public. Milind began modelling in 1988, gained a lot of recognition with Alisha Chinai’s 1995 video, Made in India, and hasn’t looked back since.

3) Randeep Hooda

Despite being one of the most gifted actors of the current generation, Randeep Hooda did not start his career as an actor. In fact, he had a short stint on the ramp, as well as tv and print commercials, after which he turned to acting and we’re so glad he took this step, since he would go on to give brilliant performances in films such as Highway, Sarbjit, Rang Rasiya and others.

4) Sidharth Malhotra

Not many people know but Sidharth Malhotra, the heartthrob started his modelling career at the tender age of 18. After a while, he found success in modelling but he wasn’t quite happy with his profession after which he switched to Bollywood.
