Celebrities that got recognition this year because of their character roles

Box Office, a place where crores of people want to appear. Some got big name and fame, whereas some didn’t get any recognition. Here are some celebs that got due recognition in 2019:

Siddhant Chaturvedi

He gained recognition for his Bollywood debut alongside Ranveer Singh in the critically acclaimed film Gully Boy, directed by Zoya Akhtar where he plays the character of a street rapper named M.C. Sher. His other work includes starring in a television youth sitcom Life Sahi Hai (by Luv Ranjan), followed by the web series “Inside Edge”. This Amazon series was nominated for Best Drama series at the International Emmy Awards. He has also featured in a series of TV commercials, including an international advertisement campaign for Coca-Cola. He is also currently endorsing Tata Harrier. He has won Bombay Clean and Clear Fresh Face 2012-2013.

Sunil Grover

Grover was discovered during his college days by the late satirist and comedian Jaspal Bhatti. He has conjointly acted in India’s silent comedy show, SAB TV’s Gutur Gu in the initial 26 episodes.

He was with comedian Kapil Sharma in the comedy show Comedy Nights with Kapil and then The Kapil Sharma Show and became popular for playing comical characters: Gutthi, Rinku Bhabi and Dr. Mashoor Gulati. 

Sunil debuted in the Punjab film industry, with Vaisakhi List in 2016 and the same year he portrayed the role of Shraddha Kapoor’s father in the Baaghi movie.

Radhika Madan

Belonging to Delhi, Madan started her career by acting in the daily soap Meri Ashiqui Tum Se Hi that ran for one and a half year on Colors TV. She also participated in the dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa season 8. 

After trying her stint on television, Madan made her feature film debut with Vishal Bhardwaj’s comedy drama Pataakha, alongside Sanya Malhotra.

Madan then appeared in Vasan Bala’s action comedy Madan Ko Dard Nahi Hota. It premiered in the Midnight Madness section of the2018 Toronto International Film Festival, where it won the People’s Choice Award: Midnight Madness. The film was conjointly screened at the 2018 MAMI fete wherever it received credit.

Madan mentioned that she was auditioning for Laila Majnu (2018) once need to fathom Mard knockout Indo-Aryan Nahi Hota and selected the latter film as a result of its “uniqueness”.
