Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday dedicated the Atal Rohtang tunnel to the country and launched the Atal Bhujal Yojana at capacity in the capital’s Vigyan Bhawan on the event of former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s birth anniversary.

The Rohtang tunnel in Himachal Pradesh, which is the longest mountain tunnel on the earth, cuts the travel time between Leh and Manali by 46 hours and lessens the movement time by five hours.

“Out of the complete cost of Rs. 6000 crore, half will be as World Bank credit and be reimbursed by the Central Government.
