At the present time, well known Bollywood director David Dhawan is busy remaking his own 1995 hit film Coolie No 1 that will feature his dashing son Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan.
Even though the ace personality has directed 44 films formerly, none has made David as anxious as his underproduction movie Coolie No 1, the remake of Govinda and Karisma Kapoor starrer.
Making a comparison of Varun Dhawan and actress Sara Ali Khan to Govinda and Karisma Kapoor, Varun stated, “Govinda and Karisma created magic on screen. No one can equal them. No one should even try. Varun and Sara are in a completely different zone, freed of the burden of trying to be like their predecessors.”
David said that comparing the new stars with multi-talented Govinda and Karisma Kapoor is completely unfair.
“Agreed I am remaking my own film. So there will be comparisons. But what I’m saying is, the two pairs belong to different eras. It’s like comparing a Bentley with a Porsche. They are not comparable.”
There were also reports that Govinda and Karisma will be seen making a guest appearance in the remake of Coolie No.1. However, that didn’t materialize.
Actor-comedy star Jaaved Jaaferi has also joined the cast of David Dhawan’s forthcoming Coolie No 1.
The official Twitter page of the production banner made the announcement in the past, “He has always tickled our funny bones with his perfect comic timing! It’s time to welcome a new member, @jaavedjaaferi to the #CoolieNo1 family.”
The movie will hit the theatres on May 1, 2020.
